Suicide attempt by hanging - case study

Wstęp: Samobójstwo jest zjawiskiem globalnym i może dotyczyć zarówno kobiet, jaki mężczyzn w każdym przedziale wiekowym. Rosnąca ilość osób borykających się międzyinnymi z problemami psychicznymi, nadużywaniem substancji psychoaktywnych orazwykluczeniem społecznym wpływa na tendencję wzrostową zachowań autodestrukcyjnych.Właściwe i natychmiastowe postępowanie oraz odpowiednia opieka nad pacjentemprzejawiającym skłonności do autoagresji jest zadaniem trudnym, lecz kluczowym w dążeniudo wyleczenia chorego.Cel: Celem niniejszej pracy jest przedstawienie przypadku 25-letniego mężczyzny, który podwpływem wzburzenia oraz będąc pod wpływem środków odurzających podjął się próbysamobójczej przez powieszenie oraz ukazanie problemu, jakim jest zamach na własne życie,który może nieść za sobą wiele konsekwencji zdrowotnych, a nawet stanowi bezpośredniezagrożenie życia pacjenta.Materiały, metody oraz narzędzia badawcze: W niniejszej pracy zastosowano metodębadawczą, jaką jest studium indywidualnego przypadku 25-letniego chorego po przebytejpróbie samobójczej przez powieszenie na pasku. Techniką badawczą pracy jest analizadokumentacji medycznej uzyskanej z 5 Wojskowego Szpitala Klinicznego z Poliklinikąw Krakowie. Jako narzędzia badawcze posłużyły mi Karta Medycznych CzynnościRatunkowych oraz dokumentacja sporządzona w szpitalnym oddziale ratunkowym.Wnioski: Na podstawie pracy można wysnuć wnioski, iż każdy pacjent po podjętej próbiesamobójczej powinien znajdować się pod stałym nadzorem personelu medycznego, zarównow leczeniu przedszpitalnym, jak i szpitalnym, oraz że pacjent w warunkach przedszpitalnychwymaga użycia przymusu bezpośredniego tylko w momencie, gdy zagraża życiu swojemu lubosób w otoczeniu bądź w sposób gwałtowny niszczy przedmioty znajdujące się w jegootoczeniu.

Introduction: Suicide is a global phenomenon and can affect both women and men of allages. The growing number of people struggling with mental problems, abuse of psychoactivesubstances and social exclusion influences the upward trend in self-destructive behaviour.Appropriate, immediate management and appropriate care of a patient prone to autoaggressionis a difficult task, but it is essential in order to cure the patient.Objective: The goal of this paper is to present a case of a 25-year-old man who, under theinfluence of turmoil and being under the influence of intoxicants, attempts to commit suicideby hanging and showing the problem of an assault on one's own life that may have manyhealth consequences and even constitutes a direct threat to the patient's life.Methods: This paper is based on research method, which is a case study of a 25-year-oldpatient after a suicide attempt by hanging on a belt. The research technique of the work is theanalysis of medical documentation obtained from the 5th Military Clinical Hospital with thePolyclinic in Krakow. As a research tool I used the diagram of the emergency medical rescueteam and the documentation prepared in the hospital emergency deparment.Conclusions: Based on the work, it can be concluded that every patient after attemptedsuicide should be under constant supervision of medical personnel, both in prehospital andhospital treatment, and that a patient in prehospital conditions requires the use of directcoercion only when they threatens their life or that of persons in their environment orviolently destroys objects in their surroundings.
