Military and non-military mechanisms of influence of the Russian Federation on the countries of the South Caucasus

Niniejsza praca omawia problematykę relacji Federacji Rosyjskiej oraz państw regionu Kaukazu Południowego. Jej celem jest ukazanie strategii Rosji wobec regionu oraz wyróżnienie militarnych i pozamilitarnych środków, za pomocą których Rosja wpływa na otoczenie międzynarodowe i sytuację wewnętrzną w Gruzji, Armenii i Azerbejdżanie. Praca zwraca także uwagę na determinanty wzajemnych relacji między Rosją, a państwami Kaukazu Południowego, na których podstawie autorka stara się dokonać prognozy ich rozwoju. Oparcie analizy o studium przypadku pozwala ponadto na wyciągnięcie końcowych wniosków dotyczących samej Federacji Rosyjskiej i jej strategii.

This treatise discusses the relations between the Russian Federation and the countries of the South Caucasus. The general objective of this treatise is to present Russia's regional strategy and to distinguish military and non-military means, used by Russia to influence the international environment and the internal situation in Georgia, Armenia and Azerbaijan. The essay focuses on the determinants of the mutual relations between Russia and the countries of the South Caucasus. The author uses this dimension to predict development of the bilateral relations. Case study of the Caucasus countries enables us to draw conclusions regarding Russia and its strategy.
