Islamic terrorism in the Horn of Africa

W niniejszej pracy magisterskiej przedstawiono zjawisko terroryzmu islamskiego w Rogu Afryki. Dynamiczny proces rozwoju i liczne uwarunkowania tego zjawiska, pozwalają stwierdzić, że dzisiaj szeroko rozumiany terroryzm jest problemem międzynarodowym. Wpływ religii jako czynnika warunkującego terroryzm islamski jest ogromny, ponieważ prowadzi do tzw. dżihadu czyli wojny z niewiernymi. Róg Afryki poprzez swoją historię i obecną niestabilną sytuację jest podatny na działalność organizacji terrorystycznych a wraz z nim - Somalia, która jest uznawana za państwo upadłe. W pracy podjęto rozważania dotyczące charakterystyki regionu, terroryzmu islamskiego we współczesnym świecie, działalności organizacji Asz - Shabab oraz upadku Somalii.

In my master thesis I presented the phenomenon of Islamic terrorism in the Horn of Africa. The dynamic development process and a lot of determinants of this phenomenon, allow to conclude that today widely understood terrorism is an international problem. The influence of religion as the determinant of Islamic terrorism is huge, because it leads to the so - called jihad or war with the infidels. The Horn of Africa through its history and the current unstable situation is susceptible to the activities of terrorist organizations and with it - Somalia, which is considered a failed state. The my master thesis has been considerations regarding characteristics of the region, Islamic terrorism in the modern world, the activities of the Al - Shabaab organisation and the fall of Somalia.
