Changes in the profession of an stage manager in the Polish theater of the nineteenth century and in the modern theatre

Nadrzędnym celem pracy jest przeanalizowanie przemian zawodu inspicjenta, zakresu czynności i obowiązków w teatrze w czasie prób oraz eksploatacji spektaklu w XIX wieku i teatrze współczesnym. Rozważając nad pierwszymi wzmiankami o zawodzie, autorka podejmuje analizę znaczenia roli inspicjenta w teatrze. W tym celu sięga do Urządzeń i Regulaminów teatru warszawskiego, lwowskiego oraz krakowskiego. Autorka zwraca uwagę, że w kilku z nich informacji o inspicjenturze nie ma albo są szczątkowe. Analiza zawodu inspicjenta oparta została na literaturze związanej z teatrem XIX wieku, m.in książka dr Jarząbek-Wasyl Za kulisami, która jest także znakomitym źródłem do przeanalizowania dziewiętnastowiecznych egzemplarzy inspicjenckich. Druga część pracy poświęcona inspicjentowi w teatrze współczesnym jest opisem zawodu inspicjenta w trzech odmiennych typach teatrów: dramatycznym, lalkowym oraz awangardowym. W tym celu autor opisuje własne doświadczenia, związane z pracą w Ośrodku Praktyk Teatralnych „Gardzienice” na stanowisku inspicjenta. Opisuje także dokument związanych z zakresem czynności i obowiązków inspicjenta w Teatrze im. Juliusza Słowackiego oraz przeprowadzony, autorski wywiad z inspicjentem Teatru Groteska w Krakowie. W zakończeniu pracy autorka opisuje wnioski dotyczące przemian w zawodzie inspicjenta w XIX wieku i teatrze współczesnym.

The overriding aim of the work is to analyze the changes of the profession of an inspector, the scope of activities and responsibilities in the theater during rehearsals and exploitation of the spectacle in the 19th century and contemporary theater. Considering the first mentions about the profession, the author analyzes the importance of the role of the theater inspector in the theater. For this purpose, it reaches to the Equipment and Regulations of the Warsaw, Lviv and Krakow theaters. The author notes that in a few of them information on the inspectorate is not or remains residual. The analysis of the profession of the inspector was based on literature related to the theater of the nineteenth century, including Dr. Jarząbek-Wasyl's book Behind the Scenes, which is also an excellent source for the analysis of the nineteenth-century inspector's copies. The second part of the work devoted to the inspector in contemporary theater is a description of the profession of the inspector in three different types of theaters: dramatic, puppet and avant-garde. For this purpose, the author describes his own experiences related to work at the Gardzienice Center of Theater Practices as an inspector. It also describes a document related to the scope of activities and responsibilities of the inspector at the Teatr im. Juliusz Słowacki and an original interview with the inspirer of the Groteska Theater in Krakow. At the end of the work, the author describes the conclusions regarding changes in the profession of an inspector in the nineteenth century and contemporary theater.
