Death as an existential evil in the 20 th century literature of magical realism on the example in the chosen works of Gabriel García Marquez

W pracy poruszam temat śmierci z perspektywy narzucającej się człowiekowi trwałej samoświadomości własnej natury – śmierci jako zło egzystencjalne. Podejmowane zagadnienie analizuję na przykładzie wybranej twórczości Gabriela Garcíi Marqueza. Pracę zaczynam od zarysowania nurtu realizmu magicznego w literaturze. Następnie przywołuję postać Gabriela Garcíi Marqueza po czym przechodzę do analizy jego twórczości. Celem pracy jest ukazanie wyjątkowego ujęcia śmierci przez G.G. Marqueza oraz filozoficznego potencjału nurtu realizmu magicznego.

In this paper I deal with the topic of death from the perspective of a permanent self-awareness of one's own nature - death as an existential evil. I analyze the issue under consideration on the example of the chosen works of Gabriel García Marquez. I start my work by outlined the trend of magical realism in literature. Then, I invoke the figure of Gabriel García Marquez and next I go on to analyze his works. The aim of this paper is to present a unique approach to death by G.G. Marquez and the philosophical potential of the magical realism.
