Andrzej Bursa – poetry and legend

Andrzej Bursa był polskim poetą, tworzącym w latach powojennych. Po przedwczesnej śmierci okrzyknięty został buntownikiem. Wokół jego życia i twórczości narosła legenda literacka, która w dalszym ciągu wpływa na percepcję dzieł autora. Niniejsza praca – zatytułowana Andrzej Bursa: poezja i legenda – skupiona jest przede wszystkim na rzetelnej analizie wierszy Bursy, ukazującej powtarzające się w nich motywy, ewolucję pewnych zjawisk i stosowane chwyty literackie. Akcentuję w niej również, w jaki sposób Andrzej Bursa wplatał do wierszy elementy autobiograficzne. Owa analiza poszczególnych utworów staje się też podstawą do rozważań nad legendą literacką i percepcją samego pisarza. Celem mojej pracy jest ukazanie Andrzeja Bursy przede wszystkim jako twórcy, który wypowiadał się w swoich wierszach, zanim odbiór ich został zdominowany przez legendę literacką.

Andrzej Bursa was a polish poet, who wrote during the years after the II World War. After his premature death, he became known as a rebel, and his life, as well as his writings, became parts of a literary legend, which to this day influences the perception of his works. The present thesis – titled Andrzej Bursa: poetry and legend - primarly focuses on an attentive analysis of Bursa's poems, showing reoccuring themes, evolution of certain phenomenons and literary ploys that the author used. Furthermore I show how Andrzej Bursa used autobiographical elements in his poems. The analysis of individual literary works became a basis for consideration about the literary legend and perception of the author himself. The main aim of my thesis is to show Andrzej Bursa as above all else a writer, who spoke to the readers in his poems, before they became overpowered by the literary legend.
