Niniejsza praca przedstawia położenie geograficzne, geomorfologię oraz zarys budowy geologicznej Islandii. Został zawarty opis ewolucji i budowy ryftu północnoatlantyckiego oraz jego znaczenie w gospodarce. Uwzględniono struktury pozyskiwania źródeł oraz metody eksploatacji energii geotermalnej, jak i jej wykorzystanie na wyspie. Ważną pozycję w pracy zajmuje opis programu badań geotermalnych IDDP. Poruszono również problematykę geoturystyki na przykładzie gejzerów, wulkanów, lodowców i wodospadów oraz ochrony przyrody nieożywionej Katla Geopark. Szczegółowe informacje o wybranych zagadnieniach zostały omówione w pracy.

This bachelor thesis presents the geographical location, geomorphology and outline of the geological structure of Iceland. The thesis also contains a description of the evolution and construction of the North Atlantic rift and its economic importance. Operational methods and energy generation structures are taken into account. An IDDP geothermal program has a very important position in the thesis. The issues of geotourism were also discussed on the example of geysers, volcanoes, glaciers and waterfalls, as well as the protection of inanimate nature of Katla Geopark. Detailed information on selected issues are discussed in the bachelor thesis.
