Perception and manifestation of Latin American culture. Case study of city of Zagreb, Croatia

Badacze od wielu lat przejawiali zainteresowanie wobec tego jak kultura globalna wpływa na państwa świata, a tym samym na odmienne kultury. Głównym celem pracy było zaprezentowanie kultury Ameryki Łacińskiej w stolicy Chorwacji – Zagrzebiu, poprzez ukazanie wymiaru społeczno–kulturowego oraz instytucjonalnego. W związku z tym praca odnosi się do zagadnień związanych w głównej mierze z koncepcją percepcji, przestrzeni oraz miasta, porusza także aspekty globalizacji, wielokulturowości i tożsamości kulturowej. Autorka dokonała analizy percepcji i manifestacji kultury latynoamerykańskiej wykorzystując segmenty kultury materialnej oraz niematerialnej zaprezentowanej w szczególności w restauracjach, pubach, szkołach tańca i instytucjach, a także dzięki grupie respondentów latynoskich oraz chorwackich. Główne metody badawcze zastosowane w pracy opierały się na analizie literatury przedmiotu, badaniach empirycznych (wywiadach) oraz obserwacjach.

Researchers through many years have been interested in understanding how global culture affect different cultures and countries around the world. The main purpose of this study was presentation of Latin American culture in the capital of Croatia – Zagreb, thanks to showing sociocultural and institutional dimension. Therefore this work elaborate issues primarily related with the conception of perceptioncity, space as well as city. Brings also concepts of globalization, multiculturalism and cultural identity. The author analyzed perception and manifestation of Latin American culture thanks to using the segments of material and non-material culture presented particularly in the restaurants and pubs, dance schools and institutions and also thanks to the Latin American and Croatian respondents. The main research methods used in the dissertation were based on literature study, empirical researches (interviews) and observations.
