Obiektem badawczym pracy jest wolontariat (na przykładzie wolontariuszy Salezjańskiego Wolontariatu Misyjnego).Praca porusza kwestie motywacji do działania i związane z nią zagadnienia altruizmu i egoizmu. Z wielu perspektyw ukazuje te czynniki, które motywują ludzi do takiej formy aktywności i opisuje sposoby podejście do pomocy drugiemu człowiekowi. Objaśnia wielość znaczenia słowa "misja" jak również porusza zagadnienia związane z wyjazdami, które mają charakter charytatywny. Opisuje sposób traktowania jej jako pomysłu na życie. Wzięty pod uwagę został też aspekt wiary w kontekście działania nakierowanego na pomoc innym.

The research object of the thesis is volunteering (on the example of volunteers of Salesian Missionary Volunteering). The work deals with issues of motivation for action and the issues of altruism and egoism. From many perspectives they show the factors that motivate people to take up such forms of activity and describes the ways in which they can approach helping other people. Explains the many meanings of the meaning of the word "mission" as well as discusses issues related to trips that are charity trips. The thesis describes how it is possible to treat voluneering as a way of life. The aspect of faith was also taken into account in the context of the action aimed at helping others.
