Niniejsza praca licencjacka jest próbą wydobycia zależności jakie zachodzą między malarstwem Edwarda Dwurnika a tradycją malarstwa europejskiego. Obrazy wybrane do analizy pochodzą z cyklu XV „Sportowcy” i w kolejności chronologicznej to: „Pszenica” (1973), „Po raju” (1974), „Śniadanie na trawie” (1974) oraz „Leda z łabędziem” (1991). Celem pracy jest ich analiza porównawcza z dziełami dawnego malarstwa oraz osadzenie wydarzeń przedsiwionych na obrazach w kontekście socjologicznym i politycznym czasów, w których powstały. Kolejna część pracy adaptuje transcendencję tekstualną w ujęciu Gérarda Genetta do malarstwa, co pozwala na rozstrzygnięcie, czy korzystanie ze wzorów dawnych przez Dwurnika to parodia, pastisz, czy trawestacja.

This paper is an attempt to demonstrate the relation existing between Edward Dwurnik’s painting and the European painting tradition. The paintings selected for the analysis are part of the XV “Sportsmen” series and given in chronological order: “Wheat” (1973), “After paradise” (1974), “Breakfast on the grass” (1974) and “Leda with the swan” (1991). This paper aims to conduct a comparative analysis of the works mentioned above with works of old painting and seating the events depicted on the Dwurnik’s paintings in a sociological and political context. The next part of the paper adapts Gérard Genett’s textual transcendence to painting. It allows the author to decide whether Dwurnik’s use of the old formulas is a kind of parody, pastiche or travesty.
