Organ trade and organized crime

Przedmiotem pracy jest przedstawienie procederu handlu organami, tkankami, komórkami oraz ludzkimi szczątkami w Europie oraz Stanach Zjednoczonych Ameryki. Państwa Europy oraz USA zostały pokazane głównie z perspektywy osób, które podejmują decyzję o nielegalnym zakupie organów. Handel jest przedstawiony na zasadzie kontrastu pomiędzy państwami słabo rozwiniętymi bądź rozwijającymi się, które są zazwyczaj głównymi dostawcami organów, a rozwiniętymi państwami zachodnimi, które są odbiorcami tych dóbr. Celem pracy jest zwrócenie uwagi na wciąż rozwijający się problem handlu organami, który nie ogranicza się jedynie do nielegalnego handlu nerkami, należy tu również uwzględnić handel gametami, problem surogacji oraz nielegalny obrót szczątkami ludzkimi. W pracy nie zostanie natomiast poruszony temat handlu organami w Chinach, ponieważ jest to kwestia bardziej złożona i odrębna. Handel organami pobranymi od więźniów zasadniczo zamyka się w chińskich granicach i nie ma dominującego wpływu na ten proceder w państwach zachodnich.

The subject of this master thesis is to present organs, tissues, cells and human remains trade in Europe and in the United States of America. European countries and US are shown from the perspective of those who make the decision to purchase organs illegally. Organ trade is presented on the basis of contrast between the developing countries, which are usually the main suppliers of organs, and developed western countries that are the recipients of those goods. The aim of the work is to draw attention to the organ trade, which is not only limited to kidneys but also to gametes, illegal surrogacy and illicit trafficking in human remains. The issue of organ trafficking in China will not be analyzed in this work. Organs, that are usually taken from prisoners, are the subject of illegal trade that is basically concentrated inside the Chinese borders and has no dominant influence on this practice in the western countries.
