Utilization of European Union funds by Local Government Unit based on example of Municipality of Ropa

Praca „Wykorzystywanie środków z Unii Europejskiej przez Jednostki Samorządu Terytorialnego na przykładzie Gminy Ropa” składa się z czterech rozdziałów, została podzielona na dwie części: teoretyczną i empiryczną. Rozdział pierwszy przedstawia ogólną charakterystykę funduszy, cele oraz zasady funkcjonowania. Została przedstawiona rola funduszy strukturalnych w rozwoju lokalnym i regionalnym. W drugim rozdziale zostały przedstawione zagadnienia związane z: genezą powstania samorządów w Polsce, udziałem środków krajowych i unijnych w realizacje inwestycji, oraz czynniki determinujące absorpcję unijnych środków pomocowych.Rozdział trzeci zawiera charakterystykę Gminy Ropa, omówiono zakres i rodzaj inwestycji, pozytywne aspekty rozwoju i działania Gminy Ropa oraz perspektywy dalszego inwestowania i źródła pozyskiwania. W części czwartej znajduje się omówienie metodologii badań, analiza badań oraz wnioski. Zakończenie pracy stanowi potwierdzenie hipotez, które zostały postawione na początku pracy, "Środki pochodzące z Europejskich Funduszy Pomocowych mają korzystny wpływ na rozwój Gminy Ropa", "Prowadzone inwestycje wpływają na poprawę warunków życia mieszkańców"

This thesis "Utilization of European Union funds by Local Government Unit based on example of Municipality of Ropa" consists of and four chapters, it has been divided into two parts: theoretical and empirical. Chapter one presents the general characteristics of funds - their objectives and principles of operation. The role of structural funds in local and regional development has been also presented. The second chapter presents the issues related to the origin of local governments in Poland, the contribution of national and EU funds to investment, and the factors that determine the absorption of EU funds. Chapter three contains the characteristics of the Ropa community. It discusses the scope and nature of the investments, the positive aspects of Ropas development and operations, the prospects for further investment and the source of acquisition.The fourth part contains the description of the used research methodology, the research analysis and the conclusions. The ending of the work confirms the hypotheses that were made at the beginning of this work, "The funds from the European Aid Funds have a positive impact on the development of the Ropa Commune." “The investments have an impaction the improvement of the living conditions of the population."
