Women loves uniforms - stereotypes and prejudice against women in uniformed formations with the perspective of policewomen.

Celem niniejszej pracy jest omówienie stale funkcjonującego w społeczeństwie problemu stereotypowego postrzegania kobiet w formacjach mundurowych w oparciu o analizę literatury i źródeł dodatkowych oraz informacji uzyskanych w efekcie badań przeprowadzonych z udziałem policjantek.W szczególności analizie zostały poddane zagadnienia roli kobiet w Policji, stereotypizacji płciowej w formacjach mundurowych, postrzegania policjantek przez społeczeństwo oraz przypuszczalnych źródeł i wpływu stereotypów i uprzedzeń na pracę funkcjonariuszek. Na podstawie wyciągniętych wniosków podjęta została próba odpowiedzi na pytanie: Czy istnieją stereotypy i uprzedzenia przyczyniające się do zawężania zakresu przydzielanych obowiązków zawodowych kobietom w formacjach mundurowych? oraz jaki, w przypadku ich występowania, wpływ mają negatywne obrazy policjantek na delegowanie zakresu ich zajęć służbowych. Liczne rozbieżności pomiędzy uzyskanymi w wyniku analizy źródeł informacjami a odpowiedziami respondentek wykazały wielopłaszczyznowość badanego problemu i wielość zależności wpływających na intensywność i ingerencję stereotypowego postrzegania policjantek w wykonywaną przez nie pracę. Złożoność badanej materii powoduje zawiłość i komplikacje podczas próby wyciągnięcia adekwatnych wniosków.

The main aim of this thesis is to discuss the constantly functioning problem of stereotyped perception of women in uniformed formations based on analysis of literature and other sources as well as a information obtained from the research conducted with the participation of policewomen. In particular, the analysis examined issues such as the role of women in Police, the gender stereotypes of women in uniformed formations, the perception of policewomen by the public and the presumed sources and effects of stereotypes and prejudice on the work of policewomen. On the basis of the conclusions, an attempt was made to answer the question: Are there any stereotypes and prejudice that contribute to the narrowing of the range of professional duties assigned to women in uniformed formations? " and how, in the case of their occurrence, the negative images of the policewomen impact on the delegation of the scope of their duties.Numerous discrepancies between information obtained as a results of analysis of sources and the responses of the respondents showed the multifacetedness of the investigated problem and the multiplicity of dependencies affecting the intensity and interference of the stereotypical perception of the policemen in their work. The complexity of the investigated matter causes intricacy and complications when trying to draw adequate conclusions.
