Services in the middle city space on the example of Głogów

Praca przedstawia zagadnienia dotyczące rozmieszczenia podmiotów gospodarczych w przestrzeni miasta o średniej wielkości na przykładzie Głogowa. Skupiono się na podmiotach reprezentujących świadczenie usług na obszarach zabudowy wielorodzinnej, powyżej 3 kondygnacji. Badania zostały przeprowadzone w 2017 i 2018 roku, w celu analizy zmian jakościowej i ilościowej podmiotów. Praca jest złożona z 3 rozdziałów teoretycznych i 2 rozdziałów przedstawiających analizę i wyniki badań własnych. Handel i usługi to jedne z bardzo istotnych czynników miastotwórczych. Historycznie to właśnie na szlakach handlowych powstawały grody, a później miasta. Usługi są ważne z punktu widzenia rozwoju funkcji, które spełniają w mieście oraz ich wpływu na rozwój innych funkcji miejskich. Skupiono uwagę na niespełna 70 tys. mieście w północnej części województwa dolnośląskiego. Głogów jest jednym z największych miast w okolicy, lecz zmaga się z malejącą liczbą ludności. Z tego względu rozwój miasta i zapewnienie mieszkańcom odpowiedniego dostępu do szerokiego zakresu usług jest bardzo ważne z punktu widzenia atrakcyjności miasta i zachęcenia mieszkańców do pozostania w nim.

This thesis concerns itself with the presents issues concerning the distribution of economic entities in a medium-size city space, using Głogów as an example. It focuses on the entities representing the provision of services in the areas of multi-family housing, more than three floors. The research was carried out in 2017 and 2018 in order to analyse qualitative and quantitative changes in the entities. The thesis consists of three theoretical chapters and two chapter which presents results and analysis of personal research. Trade and services are one of the most important citygenic factors. Historically, it was on the trade routes that castles and later towns were built. Services are important because of the functions they have in the city and because of their influence on development of another city functions. Attention was focused on less than 70,000 cities in the northern part of the Lower Silesian Voivodship. Głogów is one of the largest cities in the area, but it is struggling with a shrinking population. Therefore, the development of the city and ensuring adequate access to a wide range of services for the residents is very important for the attractiveness of the city and for encouraging the residents to stay in the city.
