Articuento to gatunek stworzony przez Juana José Millása, będący hybrydą felietonu dziennikarskiego i microopowiadania, gatunków, które przez swoje graniczne położenie wykazują wiele podobieństw. Felieton, z uwagi na subiektywizm autora i dowolność tematyczną, sytuuje się na pograniczu prasy, natomiast microopowiadanie, mimo rosnącej popularności, nadal uznawane jest za „heretyka" o nieustalonym kanonie. Praca skupia się na analizie articuento, mając na uwadze dwie tradycje z których ów gatunek czerpie. Punktem wyjścia analizy jest zbiór „Articuentos completos", zawierający teksty Millása publikowane wcześniej w dzienniku „El Pais" w rubryce „Opinia". Autor dokonał ich podziału na pięć rozdziałów tematycznych: ciało, umysł, język, społeczeństwo i rozmaitości, z których skupiamy się na analizie czterech z wymienionych kategorii, w celu zaprezentowania kwestii (lub obsesji), nurtujących autora. Articuentos poza oryginalną strukturą, zaskakują również tematyką zainspirowaną codziennością, rozumianą jako przestrzeń, w której zacierają się granice między rzeczywistością a fantazją. Niestabilna tożsamość, obecność “innego”, rzeczywistość zawsze niejednolita, codzienna przestrzeń pełna przedmiotów, które prowadzą własne życie oraz skupienie na słowach, którymi "przeżuwamy" rzeczywistość, to tematy, do których autor podchodzi z właściwym sobie absurdalnym humorem i zdumieniem. Te z kolei postawy stanowią klucz do zrozumienia prezentowanej przez niego wizji świata, którą możemy określić jako surrealistyczną.

Articuento is a genre created by Juan José Millás. It is a hybrid of a journalistic essay and a flash fiction, which are very similar in their boundaries. An assay, due to the subjectivity of the author and its thematic freedom, is situated in the field of the press, while a flash fiction, despite its growing popularity, is still considered a “heretic” for its undetermined canon. The dissertation focuses on the analysis of articuento and takes into account two traditions from which this genre derives. The starting point of the analysis is a collection of "Articuentos completos", containing the texts that have been previously published in the daily "El País",under the rubric of "Opinion". Millás divided them into five thematic chapters: body, mind, language, society and various. We focus on the analysis of four of these categories in order to present the issue (or obsession) which concerns the author. Besides the original framework, Articuentos surprise with the themes inspired by everyday life, in which the boundaries are blurred between reality and fantasy. The following topics are considered: unstable identity, the presence of the “other”, always heterogeneous reality, daily space full of objects that lead their own lives and focus on the words, with which we “chew” the reality. The author undertakes these subjects with his appropriate absurd humor and astonishment, being a key for understanding his vision of the world, which we can describe as surreal.

Articuento es una creación original de Juan José Millás. Es una forma híbrida entre la columna de opinión y el microrrelato, los géneros que por su naturaleza fronteriza presentan muchas semejanzas. La columna de opinión, debido al punto de vista subjetivo del autor y su libertad a la hora de elegir el tema, se sitúa al margen de otras formas periodísticas. También el microrrelato, a pesar de su popularidad creciente, sigue siendo un género "hereje" sin el canon establecido. El presente trabajo se centra en el análisis del articuento, teniendo en cuenta estas dos tradiciones de las que se deriva. El estudio se basa en la recopilación "Articuentos completos" que abarca los textos millasianos publicados originariamente en el diario "El País" en la sección de "Opinión". El autor los ordenó en cinco categorías temáticas: cuerpo, mente, lenguaje, sociedad, cajón de sastre. Con el fin de indagar en las cuestiones (u obsesiones) que le inquietan al escritor, cuatro de estas categorías serán presentadas con más detalle. Articuentos, además de sorprender con su estructura, maravillan con los temas inspirados en la cotidianeidad, entendida como el espacio en el que se diluyen las fronteras entre lo real y lo fantástico. La identidad inestable, fragmentada, la presencia del "otro", la realidad nunca unívoca, el espacio conocido, habitado por los objetos que llevan su propia vida, la atención a las palabras con las que "masticamos" la realidad, son los temas que Millás trata con su característico humor absurdo y con extrañeza, las actitudes clave para entender su visión del mundo que podemos calificar de surrealista.
