European Union position on the intervention in Iraq in 2003

Niniejsza praca podejmuje problematykę stanowiska Unii Europejskiej wobec interwencji w Iraku w 2003 r. Podjęto w niej próbę odpowiedzi na pytanie czy Unia Europejska potrafiła wykorzystać wszystkie dostępne instrumenty wspólnej polityki zagranicznej i bezpieczeństwa UE i wypracować wspólne stanowisko wobec interwencji w Iraku oraz jakie znaczenie miały te działania dla rozwoju polityki międzynarodowej. Jednocześnie opisano konkretne reakcje instytucji UE oraz państw członkowskich na działania Stanów Zjednoczonych wobec Iraku.

The present master’s thesis raises the issue of the European Union position on the intervention in Iraq in 2003. It is an attempt to answer the question whether the European Union was able to use all available instruments of the common foreign and security policy of the EU and develop a common approach to intervention in Iraq, and what was the meaning of those activities for the development of international politics. At the same time, it describes the specific reactions of the EU institutions and the Member States on the United States action towards Iraq.
