"Klapa as a phenomenon of Croatian culture - tradition and contemporaneity"

Niniejsza praca ma na celu przedstawienie dokładnego obrazu tradycyjnego chorwackiego zespołu wokalnego, tzw. klapy, wywodzącego się z terenów Dalmacji. Ukazane zostały cechy charakterystyczne zespołu, dotyczące m.i. jego składu, repertuaru, brzmienia, czy tematyki śpiewanych pieśni. Wszystko to opisano zarówno w ujęciu historycznym, tradycyjnym, jak i współczesnym, by udowodnić nieustanny proces przeobrażania się tego chorwackiego fenomenu muzycznego.

The main objective of this study is to present an accurate representation of the traditional Croatian vocal group called "klapa", which derives from the Dalmatia region. This thesis intends to examine the characteristics of the group through, inter alia, its members, repertoire, sound along with the subjects of its songs. All of these elements are explored from a traditional, historical as well as contemporary perspective, in order to demonstrate the continuous evolution of this unique Croatian cultural phenomenon.
