The impact of Fidesz political party and Viktor Orban's policy on the political situation in Hungary after 1989

Przemiany polityczne na Węgrzech mające miejsce po 1989 roku są istotne dla węgierskiego społeczeństwa. Praca zawiera informację dotyczące wpływu partii Fidesz i jej lidera Viktora Orbana na rozwój społeczno-polityczny Węgier. Praca obejmuje 26 lat istnienia partii. Opracowane zostały zagadnienia dotyczące m.in reform gospodarczych, politycznych w okresie wszystkich rządów Orbana, ale również zwrócono uwagę na kierunki polityki wewnętrznej i zagranicznej mających znaczenie na wizerunek kraju w Zachodniej Europie. Nie skoncentrowano się tylko i wyłącznie na latach rządów, ale również na okresie, gdy Fidesz funkcjonował jako aktywna opozycja.

Political transformations taking place in Hungary after 1989 are important for the Hungarian society. The paper contains information on the impact of Fidesz party and its leader Viktor Orban on the socio-political development of Hungary. The paper includes 26 years of the existence of the party. Issues concerning economic and political reforms in the period of all Orban's governance were developed, but it also pays an attention to the directions of the internal and foreign policy being significant to the image of a country in Western Europe. The thesis is not only exclusively concentrate on the years of governance, but also on the period, when Fidesz functioned as an active opposition.
