Celem pracy jest ukazanie uniwersalności postaci kobiecych w wybranych tragediach autorstwa Williama Shakespeare'a. Przedmiotem analizy są dwie pary kobiet, ofiary (Julia oraz Ofelia) i czarne charaktery (Lady Macbet oraz Gertruda). Przy wyciąganiu wniosków z rzeczonej analizy pod uwagę zostały wzięte takie czynniki jak funkcja danej postaci w sztuce, używany przez nią język, a także jej bezpośredni wpływ na fabułę.
The purpose of the thesis is to present the universality of the female characters in selected tragedies written by Shakespeare. Two pairs of characters will be analysed in this thesis: the victims (Juliet from "Romeo and Juliet" and Ophelia from "Hamlet") and the villains (Lady Macbeth from "Macbeth" and Gertrude from "Hamlet"). The conclusions will be based on several aspects taken into account, such as the characters' function in the play, their language and their direct involvement in the plot.
