Tourism seniors in Poland - the conditions and characteristics of the selected activity

W Polsce proces starzenia się społeczeństwa jest coraz bardziej widoczny, wpływ na to ma bardzo wiele czynników społeczno-demograficznych. Osoby starsze często określane również są mianem seniorów. Osoby takie będące już na emeryturze posiadają dużo czasu wolnego. Dlatego rosnące zainteresowanie turystyką osób powyżej 60 roku życia w Polsce, sprawiło, iż zauważyć można powstającą nową formę turystyki nazywaną często turystyką trzeciego wieku czy też turystyką seniorów, turystyką „srebrnych głów”. Celem niniejszej pracy jest przedstawienie uwarunkowań podejmowania aktywności turystycznej przez osoby starsze w Polsce oraz scharakteryzowanie niektórych form i cech aktywności turystycznej seniorów.

In Poland, the process of population aging is becoming more and more visible influence on a lot of socio-demographic factors. Older people are also often called as seniors. Such persons that are already retired have a lot of free time. Therefore, the growing interest in tourism for people aged over 60 in Poland, meant that we can see the emerging new form of tourism often called the third century tourism or tourism seniors, tourism "silver heads".The objective of this study is to present conditions making tourist activity by older people in Poland and characterize certain forms and features of tourist activity of seniors.
