Niniejsza praca poświęcona została klasztorom augustianów-eremitów na Śląsku do czasów Reformacji, a więc od około 1290 r., kiedy to założony został pierwszy klasztor w Grodkowie, aż do 1542 r., kiedy to umarł ostatni zakonnik tej reguły we Wrocławiu, Jerzy Gotthard. Opisane są dzieje czterech klasztorów: w Grodkowie, Chojnowie, Dzierżoniowie i we Wrocławiu (w aneksie zawarty jest opis dziejów fundacji nowożytnej, w Strzelinie). Pierwszy rozdział poświęcony jest dziejom zakonu do czasu wystąpienia Marcina Lutra w 1517 r., w kolejnym zawarty jest opis fundacji i rozwoju uposażenia majątkowego śląskich klasztorów. Trzeci rozdział jest klasycznym opisem dziejów klasztorów do czasu ich kasaty, a ostatni poświęcony jest środowisku zakonnemu, a więc wykształceniu zakonników, urzędów klasztornych i kwestiom prozopograficznym.

This thesis has been dedicated to the monasteries of the Augustinian friars in Silesia before the Reformation, that is since ca. 1290, when the first monastery was established in Grodków, until 1542, when Jerzy Gothard, the last friar of this monastic rule in Wrocław, passed away. The history of four monasteries: in Grodków, Chojnów, Dzierżoniów and Wrocław is described (the history of the contemporary foundation in Strzelin has been annexed). The first chapter is dedicated to the history of the Order until Martin Luther’s speech in 1517. The next one consists of the description of the foundation and the development of the financial endowment of the Silesian monasteries. The third chapter is a classic description of the history of the monasteries until their suppression, and the last chapter is dedicated to the monastic environment, that is to the friars’ education, the monastic posts and the prosopographical issues.
