Niniejsza praca jest analizą słownictwa i obrzędowości Świąt Bożego Narodzenia w Brennej, góralskiej wsi Śląska Cieszyńskiego. Praca składa się z 12 rozdziałów, w których opisałem obrzędowość bożonarodzeniową z uwzględnieniem tradycji charakterystycznych dla Brennej od Adwentu do święta Ofiarowania Pańskiego. Przedstawiłem również historię polskich kolęd, znamienne cechy językowe oraz scharakteryzowałem grupy kolędnicze na badanym terenie. Ważną częścią pracy jest charakterystyka gwary oraz słownik, w którym opisałem leksemy jednowyrazowe, związki frazeologiczne oraz przysłowia związane ze świętami.

This bachelor thesis is the analysis of the vocabulary and the customs of Christmas in Brenna, which is a cottage located in Śląsk Cieszyński. This work consists of 12 chapters in which we described the rituals, particularly the traditions characteristic for the area of Brenna from the Advent up till the Presentation of Jesus at the Temple. We also presented the history of polish carols, significant qualities of language and we characterized the groups of carol singers of the area mentioned above. The important part of this bachelor thesis is the characteristic of the vernacular and the dictionary in which we described lexemes consisting of one word, idioms and proverbs connected with Christmas.
