Model of care of patients with bronchial asthma in the period of exacerbation.

Wstęp: Astma to przewlekła choroba zapalna dróg oddechowych. Zachorowalność na astmę systematycznie rośnie. W pracy przedstawiono model opieki nad chorym z astmą w okresie zaostrzenia choroby. Jest to model oparty na teorii pielęgnowania Dorothy Orem, gdyż określa on deficyty samoopieli pacjenta. Praca przedstawia proponowany holistyczny model opieki nad chorym cierpiącym na astmę oskrzelową w okresie zaostrzenia stworzony w oparciu o analizę literatury.Cel: Celem pracy było ukazanie problemów osoby chorującej na astmę, wyznaczenie stosownych celów działań i zaproponowanie interwencji pielęgniarskich, które mogą być przydatne w opiece nad chorym.Materiał i metody: W pracy zastosowano metodę analizy piśmiennictwa polskiego oraz obcojęzycznego. Wyniki i wnioski: Astma oskrzelowa to choroba dotykająca coraz większą część społeczeństwa, a jej rozpoznanie opiera się głównie na badaniu fizykalnym oraz spirometrii. Charakterystycznymi objawami są: napadowa duszność, świszczący oddech, suchy kaszel. Prawidłowy model opieki nad chorym opiera się na holistycznym podejściu do powyższych problemów, a zaproponowany przeze mnie oparty jest na teorii Dorothy Orem oraz diagnozach pielęgniarskich według NANDA. Równie istotna jak pielęgnacja jest edukacja pacjenta oraz wsparcie psychiczne. Głównym celem w sprawowaniu opieki nad chorym na astmę jest osiągnięcie możliwie najlepszej kontroli choroby, przy stosowaniu jak najmniejszej liczby leków.

Introduction: Asthma is a chronic inflammatory disease of the air passages. Asthma morbidity is growing steadily. This project presents a model of nursing care of patients with asthma in the period of exacerbation. It is a model based on nursing care theory by Dorothy Orem as it determines the deficit in patient’s self-care.Objective: The objective of the project is to show the problems of a person suffering from asthma, designate appropriate action objectives and suggest nursing interventions which can be beneficial and useful for the patient. The project presents suggested holistic model of nursing care of patients with bronchial asthma in the period of exacerbation. It is based on literature analysis.Resources and methods: In this project analysis of polish and foreign resources and literature was applied.Results and feedback: Bronchial asthma is a disease affecting growing part of our society and its diagnosis is mainly based on physical examination and spirometry. Typical symptoms are: paroxysmal dyspnea, wheezing and dry cough. The correct nursing care model is based on holistic approach to the problems listed above. The model suggested by me is also based on Dorothy Orem’s theory and on NANDA nursing diagnosis. Supporting and educating the patient is as important as providing nursing care for them. The main purpose in providing nursing care for the patient suffering from asthma is achieving the highest possible level of disease control with the lowest possible amount of medicines.
