Mesenchymal stem cells of marrow and adipose tissue - similarities and differences

Mianem mezenchymalnych komórek macierzystych MSC (ang. mesenchymal steam cells) określa się komórki, które posiadają właściwości multipotencjalne oraz mogą różnicować się w kierunki tkanki chrzestnej tłuszczowej i kostnej. Mezenchymalne komórki macierzyste mogą być pozyskiwane z wielu tkanek, które są pochodzenia płodowego (krew pępowinowa, łożysko), jak i z tkanek od dorosłych osobników (szpik kostny , tkanka tłuszczowa). Praca ta przedstawia porównanie BM-MSC (ang. Bone marrow mesenchymal stromal cells ) oraz ASC (ang. adipose stromal cells ) aby pokazać podobieństwa i różnice w charakterystyce, sposobie pobierania, izolacji i hodowli oraz w potencjale różnicowania się tych komórek.

The term "mesenchymal stem cells" is used to refer to cells which are multipotent and can differentiate toward cartilage as well as adipose and bone tissue. Mesenchymal stem cells can be obtained from a number of tissues of fetal origin (blood, umbilical cord and placenta) as well as the tissues of adults (bone marrow, adipose tissue). The main purpose of this thesis is to present the comparison of the bone marrow mesenchymal stromal cells (BM-MSC) and the adipose stromal cells (ASC) in order to demostrate the similarities and differences in their characteristic, methods of obtaining, isolation and growing, as well as their differentiation potential.
