The propositional negation and an adverbial of time and place as generators of the presupposition and the implied meaning.

Niniejsza praca zawiera się w obszarze komunikacji, a w szczególności koncentruje się na konstrukcjach lingwistycznych mających potencjał przenoszenia treści nieliteralnej – podtekstu.Do badań wybrano konstrukcje negacji zdaniowej oraz okolicznika czasu i miejsca. Badania objęły grupę 145 uczestników, podzielonych na 7 grup, wyznaczonych ze względu na rodzaj komunikatu, jaki zastosowano w danej grupie. Posłużono się własnym materiałem przygotowanym w formie rzekomo autentycznej notatki prasowej zawierającej kluczowy komunikat o określonej konstrukcji. Główny problem badawczy to próba określenia możliwości wywoływania treści nieliteralnych w umysłach odbiorców za pomocą przekazu, który w swej treści dosłownej niesie przekaz zgodny z oczekiwanym stanem rzeczy lub biegiem wydarzeń. Praca zestawia komunikaty w postaci twierdzeń, przeczeń, negacji zdaniowej oraz okoliczników czasu i miejsca wraz z kombinacjami wyżej wymienionych. Skoncentrowano się na próbie wyłonienia określonego mechanizmu – powstawania podtekstu poprzez nadanie komunikatu o treści zgodnej z przewidywanym przez odbiorcę biegiem wydarzeń, która to konstrukcja, hipotetycznie, może posiadać potencjał kreowania treści nieliteralnej o odwrotnym znaczeniu, odwołującej się do wcześniejszych wydarzeń lub rozumianej jako rzeczywisty stan rzeczy w danej sytuacji. Analiza wyników potwierdziła istnienie mechanizmu generowania podtekstu za pomocą użycia negacji zdaniowej oraz okoliczników czasu i miejsca. Hipotezy odnoszące się do wpływu konstrukcji negacji oraz negacji z okolicznikiem czasu zostały potwierdzone. Nie wykazano efektu użycia okolicznika miejsca na ocenę prawdopodobieństwa zaistnienia treści nieliteralnej.

This thesis lies in the field of communication, and particularly focuses on linguistic structures that have potential to generate implied meaning in the mind of the recipient. Selected were contractions of sentence negation, adverbial of time and adverbial of space. The study included a group of 145 members divided into 7 groups by the type of construction used in the key message. The material was prepared in the form of a supposedly authentic press release, containing the key message of a particular type.The main problem of the research is an attempt to determine the possibility of developing implied meaning in the minds of recipient, which in its content verbatim carries a message consistent with the expected state of affairs or course of events. The work juxtaposes messages in the form of statements, negatives, denial of propositional and adverbials of time and space, along with combinations of the above. The focus has been put on trying to identify the specific mechanism - the formation of implied meaning by giving a message that consistent with anticipated by the recipient course of events, which is a construction that, hypothetically, could have the potential of creating implied meaning of the reverse sense, referring to past events or understood as the actual state of affairs in a given situation.Analysis of the results confirmed the existence of a mechanism that is able to generate a implied meaning through the use of propositional negation and adverbials of time and place.Hypotheses relating to the impact of the construction of negation and negation and adverbs of time were confirmed. There was no evidence of the effects of an adverbial place to assess the likelihood of not literal content.
