Głównym celem niniejszej pracy dyplomowej było przedstawianie religijności Włochów w obecnych czasach. Analizę oparto na różnych aspektach religijności zaobserwowanych i opisanych przez Beppe Severgniniego w książce „La testa degli italiani” i Tima Parksa w książce „Italiani”. W obydwu pracach poruszane są kwestie takie jak: charakterystyka katolików we Włoszech, ich stosunek do Kościoła i wiary, praktyki religijne, miejsca kultu religijnego, a także przesądność. Porównanie tworzy ciekawy obraz relacji Włochów z ich religią. Można jednak dostrzec odmienne podejście autorów do poruszanej tematyki. Różnice spowodowane są ich pochodzeniem kulturowym; Beppe Severgnini jest Włochem, a Tim Parks związany jest z kulturą protestancką i pochodzi z Wielkiej Brytani.

The main aim of this thesis was to present religiousness of Italians in today’s world. The analysis was based on various aspects of religiousness observed and described by Beppe Severgnini in his book „La testa degli italiani” and by Tim Parks in his book „Italiani”. Both books raise issues such as: the characteristics of Catholics in Italy, their attitude towards the faith and the Church, religious practices, the places of worship and also superstitiousness. The comparison creates an interesting image of relation of Italians with their religion. However, it is noticeable that both authors have distinct approach towards the mentioned subject. The differences result from their cultural background; Beppe Severgnini is Italian and Tim Parks is connected with Protestant culture and comes from Great Britain.

La presente tesi breve si pone l'obiettivo di illustrare la religiosità degli italiani nei tempi odierni. L’analisi è stata basata sui vari aspetti di religiosità osservati e descritti da Beppe Severgnini nel libro “La testa degli italiani” e da Tim Parks nel libro “Italiani”. Entrambe le opere toccano questioni come: caratteristiche dei cattolici nell’Italia, il loro atteggiamento verso la fede e verso la Chiesa, la vita religiosa, i luoghi di culto religioso e anche la superstizione. Il paragono crea un immagine molto interessante di relazione degli Italiani con la religione. Si può però notare un diverso approccio degli autori verso la tematica esaminata. Le differenze risultano dalla loro provenienza culturale; Beppe Severgnini è italiano, e Tim Parks è legato alla cultura protestante e viene dalla Gran Bretagna.
