Retelling as the new chance for the fairy-tale fantasy, that is about contemporary reinterpretations of fairy tale in the literature

Niniejsza praca przedstawia potencjał retellingu jako nowej szansy reinterpretacji baśni. Celem projektu jest pokazanie bajek magicznych jako uniwersalnych tekstów kultury, które dzięki swojej wielowymiarowości są ciekawym i chętnym materiałem do reinterpetacji. W założeniu projekt ma ponadto na celu próbę zdefiniowania retellingu przede wszystkim zwracając uwagę na możliwe przekształcenia tekstów baśniowych na niemal każdej płaszczyźnie tekstu. W pracy autorka skupia się na utworach, które ukazują przejście od konwencji fantastyki baśniowej przez realizm magiczny aż do realizmu. Z tego względu projekt będzie opierał się na analizie cyklu opowiadań Angeli Carter Czarna Wenus oraz Bajecznic Katarzyny Wasilewskiej. W dalszej części projektu autorka definiuje fantastykę baśniową, która jest podstawą do analizy współczesnych retellingów baśni. W kolejnych rozdziałach pracy przedstawiona została struktura i funkcje postaci w bajkach magicznych o Czerwonym Kapturku, Sinobrodym i Kopciuszku, a następnie dowiedziona została fantastyka baśniowa tych tekstów. W rozdziale kolejnym autorka dokonuje analizy cyklu opowiadań Czarna Wenus Angeli Cater, zwracając uwagę na konwencję realizmu magicznego występującą w tekstach. W następnej części natomiast interpretuje Bajecznice Katarzyny Wasilewskiej przedstawione za pomocą konwencji realizmu. Rozdział ostatni przedstawia możliwości interpretacyjne baśni,od psychoanalitycznych przez feministyczne aż do dydaktycznych.

This work present the potential of retelling as the new chance of the fairy tale reinterpretation. The aim of the project is to show magic fairy tales as universal texts of culture which, thanks to their multidimensional nature, are an interesting and willingly used material to interpret. The goal of the project is to define the retelling, primarily attracting attention to possible conversions of fairy tales in the almost every dimension. In this work, the author concentrates on works, which present a transition from the convention of the fairy tale fantasy, through the magic realism, to the realism. On this account, the project will be based on the analysis of the story cycle of Angela Carter Black Venus and Bajecznice by Katarzyna Wasilewska. In the further part of the project, the author will define the fairy tale fantasy which is a base of the analysis of the contemporary fairy tale retellings. In further chapters of the work the structure and the function of magic fairy tales characters Little Red Riding Hood, Bluebeard and Cinderella will be presented, then the fairytale fantasy in above mentioned texts will be proved. In the next chapter the author analyses the cycle of fairy tales Black Venus by Angela Carter, concentrating on the convention of the magic realism appearing in these texts. In the further part, she interprets Bajecznice by Katarzyna Wasilewska presented by means of the convention of the realism. The last chapter presents possibilities of the interpretation of fairy tales, from psychoanalytic, through the feminist, to didactic ones.
