Swear words, curses and insults in German and Polish Hip-Hop language

Niniejsza praca stara się przybliżyć użycie przekleństw w polskim i niemieckim języku hip-hopu. Praca została podzielona na część teoretyczną i praktyczną. W części teoretycznej zostają przybliżone oraz wyróżnione definicje oraz rodzaje przekleństwa, wyzwiska i przeklinania w języku niemieckim. Ponadto praca stara się zwrócić uwagę na proces powstawania przekleństw w przeszłości, wskazując na przesunięcia znaczeń poszczególnych słów i w teraźniejszości nawiązując do nowych mediów, języka młodzieży czy języka angielskiego. Przeprowadzona zostaje dogłębna analiza osobliwości oraz najbardziej znanych przekleństw w języku polskim i niemieckim, aby zrozumieć zależności w obu językach, przy czym szczególna uwaga zostaje poświęcona procesowi słowotwórczemu, podczas dodawania przedrostków lub przyrostków, co w znacznym stopniu zmienia znaczenie semantyczne. Wprowadzone zostaje również pojęcie dissu z nawiązaniem do kultury hip-hopowej. W części praktycznej przeciwstawione zostają sobie dwa zupełnie różne dissy hip-hopowe, używające innych środków do osiągnięcia założonego celu, jakim jest obrażenie przeciwnika. Definicja przekleństwa jest na tyle szeroka, że można zakwalifikować pod nią cały diss hip-hopowy.

The aim of the following thesis is to show how swear words are used in the Polish and German Hip-hop language. The thesis was torn apart into theory and practice. The theoretical part gives a closer view on the definitions and the kinds of swearword, curses and insults in the German language. Aside from that the work tries to explain the process, how swear words were made up in the past, showing the movement of meaning and how new media, teenage slang and English influence the curse language. An analysis of characteristics and the most known swearwords in Polish and German is made to understand all the connections in the languages. Although for the most part it is focused on the word forming. The suffixes and prefixes are adding a new semantic meaning to those words. Introduced is also the meaning of the word diss and is it explained based on hip-hop sources. In the practice there are two hip hop disses analyzed, which show different ways to get to their goal, which is the abuse of that person. The definition of swearing is so wide that also longer texts, like the hip-hop diss can be seen as one big curse.

Die vorliegende Arbeit soll den Gebrauch von Schimpfwörtern in der polnischen und deutschen Sprache näher bringen. Die Arbeit gliedert sich in zwei Teile - die Theorie und Praxis. Im theoretischen Teil werden die Definitionen und Arten der Schimpfwörter, Fluchformen, Beschimpfungen und des Schimpfens erläutert. Die Arbeit zeigt außerdem den Prozess, der Entstehung von Schimpfwörtern in der Vergangenheit, anhand der Bedeutungsverschiebungen oder wie heutzutage durch die neuen Medien, die Jugendsprache oder das Englische. Es wird eine gründliche Analyse der Besonderheiten und der meist bekannten deutschen und polnischen Schimpfwörter gemacht, um zu die Zusammenhänge in den Sprachen zu verstehen, der größte Wert wird dabei auf die Wortbildungsmöglichkeiten, die durch Suffixe und Präfixe entsteht, gelegt. Bei der Definition des Diss beruft man sich auf Quellen die mit der Hip-Hop-Kultur verbunden sind. In der Praxis werden zwei ganz verschiedene Disse analysiert, die mithilfe anderer Mittel das Ziel, welches die Beschimpfung des Gegners ist, erreichen. Die Definition des Schimpfens ist sehr breit, deshalb kann man auch längere Texte, wie den Hip-Hop-Diss anerkennen.
