Status and role of pharmacist in treatment process

Praca ma na celu wskazanie roli, jaką przepisy obowiązującego prawa wyznaczają farmaceucie w procesie leczenia oraz odpowiedź na pytanie o specyfikę tego zawodu. Rozważania służą również wskazaniu czy wprowadzenie ustawy zawodowej jest możliwe i  zasadne w odniesieniu do zawodu farmaceuty.Praca wskazuje tło historyczne jako wniosek o kształtowaniu się zawodu farmaceuty drogą ewolucji. Następnie zostają omówione regulacje unijne, odnoszące się do zawodu farmaceuty. Praca obejmuje charakterystykę zawodu farmaceuty jako zawodu regulowanego, zawodu medycznego i zawodu zaufania publicznego. Główną ideę pracy stanowi omówienie roli farmaceuty w procesie leczenia pacjenta poprzez wskazanie i analizę czynności fachowych, w których ta rola jest lub powinna być szczególnie zauważalna. W ostatnim rozdziale zostaje przedstawiony projekt ustawy o zawodzie farmaceuty z 2007 roku, nad którym prace legislacyjne przerwano. Praca ma na celu omówienie postanowień projektu i ich ocenę. Całość rozważań w pracy prowadzi do odpowiedzi na pytanie o specyfikę zawodu i zasadność wprowadzania ustawy o zawodzie.

The aim of the thesis is to present how legal regulations in force determine the role of pharmacist in treatment process and characterize of this profession. Considerations should point if bringing the pharmacist profession act in force is possible and purposeful.The thesis presents historical background to prove that profession of pharmacist evolved throughout history. Next the status of pharmacist in European Union law is described. The thesis includes characteristics of profession of pharmacist as a regulated profession, medical profession and profession of public trust. Main idea of the thesis is to present the role of pharmacist in treatment process by indication and analysis of professional duties, where that role is or should be particularly significant. The last chapter presents bill of pharmacist profession act from 2007, which finally did not come into force. The aim of the thesis is to review provisions of this bill and appraise them. All considerations shoud give an answer to the questions concerning characteristics of profession and purposefulness of bringing the pharmacist profession act into force.
