Assessment of the ecological state of the Narew river waters based on sets of aquatic macroinvertabrates.

Celem pracy jest ocena stanu ekologicznego unikatowego na skalę europejską anastomozującego systemu rzecznego rzeki Narwi w obrębie Narwiańskiego Parku Narodowego. Jednym z impulsów do podjęcia badań jest stosunkowo niewielka liczna opracowań zgłębiających temat makrobezkręgowców zamieszkujących tę rzekę. Planując opisane w niniejszej pracy badania podjęto próbę poszerzenia dotychczasowej wiedzy na ten temat. Autor zakłada, iż wraz ze wzrostem zaburzeń antropogenicznych w środowisku wodnym maleje liczba taksonów; wzrasta natomiast liczba osobników w taksonach odpornych na zanieczyszczenia. Punktem wyjścia do analizy były badania przeprowadzone przy użyciu wybranych biologicznych wskaźników oceny wód. Najlepszy stan ekologiczny wód w obrębie Narwiańskiego Parku Narodowego wykazują stanowiska w Kurowie i Uhowie. Najgorszy stan obserwujemy natomiast na stanowisku w Surażu. Chciałbym jednak podkreślić, iż wszystkie stanowiska możemy zaliczyć do najwyższej I klasy jakości, przy uwzględnieniu wskaźników oceny ekosystemu na podstawie makrofauny wodnej. Zaobserwowano także, iż wśród stanowisk możemy wyróżnić dwa zespoły makrofauny: pierwszy spotykamy na siedmiu stanowiskach (Uhowo, Baciuty, Kolonia Topilec, Waniewo, Kurowo, Radule, Rzędziany Pańki). Natomiast zupełnie odrębne zgrupowaniem makrofauny wodnej występuje na stanowisku w Surażu.

The goal of the thesis is the evaluation of ecological state of the unique on a European scale anastomosing fluvial system of the Narew river within the Narew National Park. One of the reasons for undertaking the research is a relatively low number of studies examining the issue of macroinvertabrates populating the river. The aim behind the research conducted within the framework of the thesis was to broaden the expertise gathered in this field so far. The underlying assumption is that as antropogenic disturbances in aquatic environment rise, the number of taxons decreases. However, at the same time the number of specimens within the taxons that are immune to pollution increases. The starting point of the analysis was the research conducted with the use of selected biological indicators of water evaluation. The best ecological state of waters within the Narew National Park is exhibited by the research positions in Kurów and Uhów. The worst state can be observed in the Suraż research position. It is nevertheless worth emphasising that all research positions can be classified as the best, first class quality taking into consideration the indicators used to assess the ecosystem based on aquatic macrofauna. It could also be observed that among the research position two sets of macrofauna could be distinguished. The first one was present in seven research positions (Uhowo, Baciuty, Kolonia Topilec, Waniewo, Kurowo, Radule, Rzędziany Pańki). A separate grouping of aquatic macrofauna was identified in the Suraż research position.
