Przedmiotem pracy jest obszar "Złotego Trójkąta". W pracy przedstawione jest pochodzenie i historia dotarcia opium na tereny Azji. Praca przedstawia problem jaki stanowi uprawa i produkcja opium na terenie Azji Południowo-Wschodniej. Zestawiono czynniki które spowodowały wzrost zainteresowania uprawą opium i opisano przyczyny, przez które opium stało się głównym środkiem utrzymania. Opisano powstanie potęgi narkotykowej czyli "Złotego Trójkąta" i jego rozwój na Półwyspie Indochińskim, oraz role Birmy, Laosu i Tajlandii w produkcji opium na rynku światowym. Ważnym aspektem niniejszej pracy jest ukazanie wpływu produkcji i handlu opium na społeczeństwo w tych krajach. Zbadano wpływ niestabilnej sytuacji politycznej i wysokiego poziomu ubóstwa w tych krajach, na rozwój produkcji i handlu opium. Na zakończenie przedstawiono wpływ programów narkotykowych na spadek znaczenia "Złotego Trójkąta" jako producenta opium. Następnie opisano obecną pozycję ''Złotego Trójkąta" w światowym handlu opium, oraz wpływ częściowej eliminacji upraw maku na sytuację społeczeństw państw Azji Południowo-Wschodniej. Praca ta ma ukazać ciągle istniejący problem "Złotego trójkąta", który nie został należycie rozwiązany a może spowodować tragiczne skutki.

The subject of the work is the area of the "Golden Triangle". It presents the history and origin of opium in the areas of Asia. The work shows the problem of cultivation and production of opium in the Southeast Asia.Summarizes the factors that led to increasment interest in the cultivation of opium and describes the causes and also through which opium became the main means of income. Rise to power of the drug or the "Golden Triangle" and its development in the Indochina Peninsula. The role of Burma, Laos and Thailand in the production of opium on the world market.An important aspect of this work is to show the impact of the production and trade of opium on society in these countries. The influence of the unstable political situation and the high level of poverty in these countries, and of the development of production and trade of opium. At the end shows the impact of the drug on the decline in the importance of the "Golden Triangle" as a producer of opium. Then describes the current position of the 'Golden Triangle' of the global opium trade, and the impact of partial elimination of poppy cultivation on the situation of the societies of Southeast Asia. This work has an aim to show still existing problem of the "Golden Triangle" that has not been adequately addressed and can result in tragic consequences .
