GDR-specific vocabulary as a problem in the translating process of Thomas Brussigs novel

W niniejszej pracy zostały przedstawione problemy występujące w tłumaczeniu pojęć specyficznych dla kultury NRD na podstawie wybranych fragmentów powieści "Wasserfarben" Thomasa Brussiga i własnego tłumaczenia tychże fragmentów. W pierwszej części zostały wyjaśnione niektóre aspekty teorii tłumaczenia, na których wspieramy się podczas analizy i tłumaczenia. W dalszej części zostały wzięte pod lupę cechy języka w NRD w różnych obszarach życia. W kolejnej części zostaje przestawione tło literackie powieści, jak również życiorys jej autora. Kolejny rozdział stanowi analiza wybranych fragmentów powieści i ich odpowiednie tłumaczenie na język polski. W ostatniej części pracy znajdują się wnioski z analizy przeprowadzonej w rozdziale poprzednim.

The subject of the thesis is a depiction of difficulties which occur during translation of specific to GDR's culture terms based on selected parts of Thomas Brussig's novel "Wasserfarben''. In the first chapter are explained some aspects of the theory of translation and the linguistics which are essential to the analysis and translation. In the second part of the thesis, the GDR's language features in various areas of life are taken into account. In the next chapter the literary background of the novel and the author's biography are presented. The next part constitutes analysis of chosen fragments of the novel and their translation from German to Polish. The last chapter is a colclusion drawn from the previous part of the thesis.

In der vorliegenden Arbeit werden Probleme bei der Wiedergabe von Kulturspezifika anhand der ausgewählten Textpassagen des Romans Wasserfarben von Thomas Brussig und eigener Übersetzung dargestellt. Im ersten Teil werden einige Aspekte der Übersetzungstheorie nähergebracht, an die wir uns bei der Analyse und bei der Übersetzung stützen. Im Weiteren werden einige Aspekte der Sprache in der DDR in verschiedenen Lebensbereichen unter die Lupe genommen. Im nächsten Teil wird der literarische Hintergrund des Romans beschrieben, dessen Auszüge dann übersetzt und analysiert werden. Da wird auch der Lebenslauf des Autors – Thomas Brussig – kurz beschrieben. Der nächste Kapitel enthält eine Korpusanalyse, in der sich die ausgewählten Passagen des Buches und ihre entsprechende Übersetzung ins Polnische befindet. Im letzten Kapitel wurden die Schlussfolgerungen dargestellt, die aus der Korpusanalyse ausgezogen wurden.
