Patient's rights, their knowledge and respecting in Poland

Celem pracy była ocena poziomu znajomości i przestrzegania praw pacjenta w Polsce. W badaniach uczestniczyła 100 osobowa grupa pacjentów (kobiet i mężczyzn) w przedziale wiekowym od wieku 19 do 84 lat. W trakcie badań pytano o znajomość poszczególnych praw, które przysługują chorym w naszym kraju. Ankietowani wyrazili również opinię na temat czy poszczególne prawa są wobec nich respektowane czy nie. Badania przeprowadzono przy pomocy ankiety własnego autorstwa, analizie poddano także kilka zmiennych demograficznych. Obliczeń dokonano za pomocą pakietu IBM SPSS Statistics 20."Badania własne wykazały, że najwyższą znajomość praw gwarantowanych ustawą posiadali pacjenci z najmłodszej grupy oraz posiadający wykształcenie wyższe, również poziom przestrzegania tych praw wobec nich samych najwyżej ocenili pacjenci z wysokim wykształceniem.

The aim of the thesis was to estimate the level of patients’ awareness of their rights in Poland. A group of 100 patients (men and women), aged 19-84, took part in the research. The questionnaire consisted of questions concerning the knowledge of particular rights to which the patients are entitled in our country. The respondents also expressed their opinion whether their rights are respected or not. The research was carried out based on the questionnaire prepared by the author of the thesis. A few demographic variables were analysed. The calculations were done on the basis of package IBM SPSS Statistics 20.The research showed that the patients from the youngest group and highly educated had the best knowledge of the rights guaranteed by law. The educated respondents also demonstrated the highest assessment of the level of respecting their rights.
