Temat pracy stanowi analiza wulgaryzmów z perspektywy socjopragmatycznej. W pierwszym rozdziale przybliżona jest kwestia grzeczności językowej, ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem teorii Brown y Levinsona. Wyjaśnione są pojęcia: „twarz”, „twarz pozytywna”, „twarz negatywna”, „grzeczność pozytywna” i „grzeczność negatywna”. W drugim rozdziale, przy pomocy definicji, nakreślone są podobieństwa i różnice między takimi pojęciami jak: wulgaryzm (vulgarismo), przekleństwo (palabrota), wyraz brzydki (palabra malsonante), etc. Zaprezentowane są także różne typologie funkcji wulgaryzmów. W trzecim rozdziale znajduje się analiza wulgaryzmów zawartych w „Lulu” Almudeny Grandes. Analiza ukazuje różnorodność funkcji, którą owe wulgaryzmy spełniają.

The topic of the study is the analysis of vulgarisms form the sociopragmatic perspective. The first chapter is about politeness theory. It presents the theory of Brown and Levinson and explains the concepts: face, positive face, negative face, positive politeness and negative politeness. The second chapter contains the definitions of the terms: vulgarism (vulgarismo), swear word (palabrota), vulgar word (palabra malsonante), etc. Also, there are presented different typologies of vulgarisms' functions. The third chapter consists of the analysis of vulgarisms of "The Ages of Lulu" by Almudena Grandes. The analysis proves that the vulgarisms have different functions.

El estudio trata el tema de los vulgarismos desde la perspectiva sociopragmática. El en primer capítulo se presenta la cuestión de la cortesía verbal. Allí un lugar especial lo ocupa la teoría de Brown y Levinson: se explican los conceptos de la imagen pública, la imagen positiva, la imagen negativa, la cortesía positiva y la cortesía negativa. En el segundo capítulo, a través de las definiciones, se exponen las similitudes y las diferencias entre los conceptos: vulgarismo, palabrota, palabra malsonante, etc. Además, se presentan diferentes tipologías de funciones de los vulgarismos. En el tercer capítulo hay un análisis de los vulgarismos de "Las edades de Lulú" de Almudena Grandes que demuestra la variedad de funciones que estos desempeñan.
