Niniejsza praca dotyczy adaptacji filmowej przygód słynnego detektywa, Sherlocka Holmesa w serialu Stevena Moffata i Marka Gatissa Sherlock w kontekście twórczości sir Artura Conan Doyle’a. Rozdział pierwszy poświęcony jest zestawieniu ze sobą książki i filmu, jako równorzędnych dzieł sztuki, ich strukturze i zagadnieniom prezentowania świata przedstawionego. Zaś wybrane pojęcia wypracowane przez fenomenologię pozwalają w interesujący sposób spojrzeć na zestawienie obu dzieł sztuki. Pozostałe rozdziały są analizą interpretacyjno – porównawczą adaptacji postaci twórczości angielskiego pisarza w fabule serialu osadzonej w współczesnych realiach. Analiza związana jest z opisem bohaterów i wiąże się z ustaleniem roli jaką pełnią oni w fabule dzieła, a także w kontekście elementów świata przedstawionego oraz wobec innych postaci.

This paper concerns the film adaptation of the adventures of the famous detective Sherlock Holmes in Steven Moffat's and Mark Gatiss’s series Sherlock in the context of his writing Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. The first chapter is devoted to the comparison with each book and movie, as equal works of art, their structure and presentation of the issues presented world. And the selected concepts developed by phenomenology allow an interesting way to look at a summary of both works of art. The remaining chapters are interpretative and comparative analysis of adaptation as a work of English writer in the story series set in contemporary realities. The analysis is related to the description of the characters and the burden of establishing the role they play in the story works, and also in the context of the elements of the represented world and to the other characters.
