Alternative Dispute Resolution in the law of the European Union and in the perspective of Polish consumer protection.

Przedmiotem pracy jest rozwój i ewolucja alternatywnych metod rozwiązywania sporów w prawie Unii Europejskiej, ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem specyfiki sporów konsumenckich. Autorka poddaje analizie oraz ocenie najnowsze rozwiązania legislacyjne przyjęte przez UE, w celu zwiększenia bezpieczeństwa konsumentów na jednolitym rynku, poprzez zapewnienie im dostępu do pozasądowych metod rozstrzygania sporów - zwłaszcza w związku z rosnącą rolą Internetu i pojawiającą się możliwością uczestniczenia przez konsumentów w handlu elektronicznym. Praca obejmuje też perspektywy rozwoju polskiego prawa konsumenckiego w tym zakresie.

The subject of the thesis concerns the development and evolution of alternative dispute resolution in the EU law, with particular emphasis on the specificity of consumer disputes. The author analyzes recent legislative measures adopted by the EU, in order to increase the safety of consumers in the single market, by providing them with access to non-judicial methods of dispute resolution - especially in view of the increasing role of the Internet and emerging the possibility of participation by consumers in e-commerce. The work also includes the development prospects of Polish consumer law in this regard.
