Poprzez historię kanału zostaje zaprezentowany kierunek rozwoju muzycznej telewizji, a także jej wpływ na kształtowanie się współczesnego społeczeństwa, zarówno amerykańskiego jak i polskiego. Autor przedstawia ewolucję zjawiska reality TV sięgając do jego korzeni w latach 70. Analiza poszczególnych programów pozwala zaobserwować zmiany jakie dokonały się na przestrzeni lat w reality shows, a także zastanowić się nad kwestią dlaczego właściwie ogląda się tego typu programy. Autor próbuje podjąć to zagadnienie opierając się na charakterystyce współczesnych audycji produkowanych przez stację MTV.

The author in his work tackles the question of reality TV phenomenon on the example of MTV. Through the channel's history is presented direction for music television and its influence on modern society, both American and Polish. The author presents the evolution of the phenomenon of reality TV, reaching to his roots in the 70s Analysis of particulars programs allows you to observe the changes that have taken place over the years in reality shows, and also consider the question of why exactly people watch these programs. The author tries to take this issue on the basis of the characteristics of contemporary programs produced by MTV.
