The role of a nurse in a treatment of pain associated with cancer in the senility

Choroba nowotworowa związana jest z przewlekłym, uciążliwym bólem, który wywołuje dodatkowe problemy i cierpienie pacjenta oraz jego rodziny. Ból nowotworowy u osób w wieku podeszłym to bardzo poważny problem współczesnej medycyny, gdyż pogarsza jakość życia chorego wpływając na stan bio-psycho-społeczny oraz na efekty leczenia. Ważne jest aby personel medyczny nie bagatelizował tego problemu i miał świadomość konsekwencji nieleczonego bólu nowotworowego.Celem niniejszej pracy jest przedstawienie roli pielęgniarki w zakresie leczenia bólu związanego z chorobą nowotworową u osób starszych.Pracę podzielono na trzy części. We wstępie przedstawiono ogólne zagadnienia dotyczące bólu nowotworowego, epidemiologii, klasyfikacji, oceny klinicznej, patomechanizmu. W rozdziale drugim omówiono leczenie bólu nowotworowego, jego objawy, czynniki nasilające odczuwanie bólu. Kolejny rozdział ukazuje rolę pielęgniarki w leczeniu bólu towarzyszącego chorobie nowotworowej u osób w wieku podeszłym z uwzględnieniem aspektu bio-psycho-społecznego.

Cancer is associated with chronic, bothersome pain, which causes additional problems and suffering of the patient and his family. Cancer pain in the senility is a very serious problem of modern medicine, because it deteriorate quality of life, affecting the the bio-psycho-social state and the results of treatment. It is important that the medical staff did not belittled the problem and was aware of the consequences of untreated cancer pain.The purpose of this paper is to present the role of the nurse in the treatment of pain associated with cancer in the senescence. The work is divided into three parts. In the introduction presents general issues relating to cancer pain, epidemiology, classification, clinical evaluation, pathogenesis. The second section discusses the treatment of cancer pain, its symptoms, factors increasing the sensation of pain. The next section shows the role of nurse in the treatment of pain associated with neoplastic disease in senility, taking into account the bio-psycho-social aspect.
