Elements of the Linguistic Image of the World in a Selection of Coursebooks for Learning Polish as a Foreign Language

Praca dotyczy analizy elementów językowego obrazu świata zawartego w wybranych podręcznikach do nauczania języka polskiego dla obcokrajowców na poziomie B2. W części pierwszej, teoretycznej, autorka omawia historię koncepcji językowego obrazu świata, jego składniki, a także pojęcia z nim związane. W części drugiej analizuje trzy wybrane podręczniki przeznaczone dla poziomu B2: Kiedyś wrócisz tu, Wśród ludzi i ich spraw oraz Polski mniej obcy. Skupia się na wybranych elementach językowego obrazu świata, takich jak obraz mężczyzny i kobiety, obraz Polaków i cudzoziemców czy polski system wartości. Analizie zostają poddane przede wszystkim leksyka oraz frazeologia. W podsumowaniu autorka zestawia uzyskane w ten sposób obrazy i porównuje je ze sobą.

The thesis is an analysis of the elements of the linguistic image of the world presented in a selection of coursebooks for learning Polish as a foreign language on B2 level. In the first, theoretical part, the author describes the history of the concept of the linguistic image of the world, its components, and terms related to it. In the second part, she analyses three chosen B2-level coursebooks: Kiedyś wrócisz tu, Wśród ludzi i ich spraw, and Polski mniej obcy. She focuses on some selected elements of the linguistic image of the world, such as the image of a man and a woman, the image of Poles and foreigners, and the Polish system of values. Special attention is paid to lexis and phraseology. In the concluding part of the thesis, the author juxtaposes and compares the three obtained images.
