Petersburg of Peter the Great. The capitol of "New Russia".

Praca „Petersburg Piotra Wielkiego. Stolica „Nowej Rosji” pokazuje nam okres burzliwych przemian w państwie rosyjskim. Na tle tych przemian powstał wówczas Petersburg, który wraz z osobą Cara Piotra Wielkiego najlepiej opisuje te lata. Przedstawiona tu historia miasta opiera się na powstającej w nim zabudowie, przy czym opis tych lat poparty jest również relacjami źródłowymi zagranicznych podróżników. Przyszła stolica Rosji otrzymała imię pochodzące od swego „ojca” Piotra, on też na jej przykładzie budował swoją ideę nowego państwa rosyjskiego. Zatem bardzo ważnym punktem było uchwycenie tu osoby samego Piotra, a w szczególności skupienie się na jego charakterze, w którym łączył osoby szaleńca oraz geniusza. Zawarte w tej pracy rozdziały odnoszą się więc do przedstawienia historii Rosji z początków XVIII wieku. Pierwszy rozdział pokazuje historię życia Piotra Wielkiego, i jego pierwszych kroków do realizacji swego planu jakim była budowa nowej stolicy. W dalszej części pracy z bliższa przedstawiony jest Petersburg w pierwszych latach swego istnienia, w tym zabudowa powstająca oraz nowa kultura, narzucona przez Piotra, oraz problemy z jakimi borykali się pierwsi jego mieszkańcy. Ważnym aspektem poruszonym w tej pracy jest w szczególności nowy styl życia w Rosji, wprowadzany przez Piotra, który walczył ze „stara Rosją” i jej obyczajowością. Dlatego też, aby można było lepiej zrozumieć przemiany w Rosji, które najlepiej można pokazać na tle Petersburga, bardzo ważnym było również skupienie się na całości kraju. Dlatego też, w tej pracy znajduje się przedstawienie Rosji, jej gospodarki, kultury, cerkwi, która wpływała na umysły Rosjan. W całości więc starałem się uchwycić Petersburg jako miasto powstałe z idei, mającej stworzyć nową Rosję, która przeszła rewolucję kulturową, gospodarczą.

"St. Petersburg of Peter the Great. The capital of the "New Russia" shows us a period of changes in the Russian state. Against the background of these changes Tsar Peter the Great build his city St. Petersburg, the Tsar and the city in the best way describes these years of changes. The story of the city, presented here is supported by the relations of foreign travelers. Future capital of Russia received the name derived from his "father" Peter the Great, he also wanted to put his idea of new Russia in this city, trying to create Petersburg like an European city. So very important thing in thhis thesis was to focus on the character of the Tsar, the man who was madman and genius. Included in this thesis chapters present the history of Russia from the early eighteenth century. The first chapter shows the history of the life of Peter the Great, and the first steps to realize his plan with the construction of the new capital. In the following parts, the main thing is St. Petersburg, his firs years of life, first the most important buildings, culture, and problems of people who lived in this city. Like in the title of this thesis St. Petersburg was the capitol of “New Russia”, important thing was to present what really was “New Russia”, her new character, new way of life in this state. This things Peter the Great tried to introduced to his state, by killing “old Russia”. To better understanding the changes in Russian Empire the best example of this changes was St. Petersburg which was a background of revolution in Russia, but also very important was to focus and show the whole country. Therefore, this thesis includes the description of Russia, its economy, culture and the church, which has very stronf influence on the minds of Russians. In total so I tried to capture the city of St. Petersburg as arising from the idea, which have to make a new Russia, after culture and economy revolution.
