Magic in Germanic mythology; selected threads of songs and sagas.

Praca ta jest próbą ukazania, iż w religii germańskiej religia i magia są nierozerwalnymi elementami, które stanowią jedną spójną całość. Na przykładzie wybranych wątków magicznych w materiałów źródłowych została postawiona hipoteza odnośnie wywodzenia poszczególnych dziedzin magicznych od osobnych grup istot mitycznych w świecie germańskim. Porusza również temat definiowania magii oraz stara się pokazać, iż dotychczasowe definiowanie magii nie jest adekwatne do religii germanów, gdyż bazowało tylko na człowieku, nie uwzględniając faktu, iż bóstwa również posługują się magią.

This work is an attempt to show that in the religion of the Germanic, religion and magic are inseparable elements that constitute a coherent whole. On the selected threads of magic from the source materials was put hypothesis about the origin of the various fields of magic from a separate group of mythical creatures in the Germanic world.It also tackles the problem of the definition of magic and tries to show that the previous definition of magic is not relevant to the Germanic religion, as were based only on the human, not taking into account the fact that the deity also use the magic
