The text tackles the subject of preservation by ancient authors mentions about person and activities of Philip III Arrhidaios, king of the Macedonian. Sources for the hellenistic period are very limited and the person of Philip III takes quite marginal place. The author through analysis and confrontation extant fragments dealing with brother of Alexander the Great reconstructs his actions and shows the way of perception his person by contemporaries. Also tries to answer the question about disrespectful attitude towards Philip III.
