Celem niniejszej pracy był opis wyobrażeń bezdomnych samotnych matek na temat przyszłych sukcesów i porażek ich dzieci w domu rodzinnym, szkole i przedszkolu. Badane kobiety pytane były o to, jak wyobrażają sobie relacje swych dzieci z najbliższą rodziną: ojcem, dziadkiem, babcią, wujkiem, ciocią. Jeśli chodzi o szkołę i przedszkole, poruszone były kwestie nauki szkolnej, jak również relacji dzieci z ich rówieśnikami.Praca składa się z czterech rozdziałów. Rozdziały I i II poświęcone są wyjaśnianiu pojęcia bezdomności i samotnego macierzyństwa oraz ich przyczyn, zarówno indywidualnych jak i społecznych. Rozdział III poświęciłam metodologii badań. Badania zostały przeprowadzone w Domu Matki i Dziecka w Krakowie na ul. Żywieckiej. Do przeprowadzenia niniejszych badań wybrałam metodę wywiadu pogłębionego, który pozwolił mi lepiej poznać i zrozumieć badane kobiety. Rozdział IV miał na celu przedstawienie analizy wyników badań.Badania te rzuciły nowe światło na dalszą pracę z bezdomnymi samotnymi matkami, a w szczególności pozwoliły im samym podjąć refleksję nad własnym życiem i ewentualną zmianą.

The aim of this dissertation is to describe the ideas of homeless single mothers about future successes and failures of their children In a family home, a school and a kindergarten.The women who took part in this research were asked, how they imagine relationships of their children with a closest family: a father, a grandfather, a grandmother, an uncle and an aunt. The issues of school education were discussed as regards a school and a kindergarten, as well as relationships of children with their peers.The thesis consists of four chapters. Chapters I and II are devoted to explain the concept of homelessness and single motherhood as well as their causes, both individual and social ones. Chapter III is devoted to the methodology of the research that was conducted in Single Mothers and Children's Home in Kraków at Żywiecka street. I chose the methodology of the in-depth interview in order to conduct this research which let me get to know in a better way and understand these women who took part in the research. The aim of chapter IV was to present the analysis of the research results.This research brought new light for further work with homeless single mothers and in particular, it enabled them to reflect on their own lives and possible change.
