Celem niniejszej pracy jest zwrócenie uwagi na problem alkoholizmu, którego skutki odczuwane są nie tylko przez uzależnioną osobę, ale przede wszystkim jej rodzinę oraz całe społeczeństwo. Praca ta koncentruje się na zagadnieniach związanych z wpływem alkoholizmu jednostki na kształt życia całego systemu rodzinnego. Ukazuje relacje panujące w rodzinie alkoholowej oraz ich przemianę - w trakcie choroby i po przebytym leczeniu. Ma za zadanie ukazanie alkoholizmu jako problemu, który dotyka nie tylko uzależnioną jednostkę, ale również cały system rodzinny.Rozdział pierwszy obejmuje ogólną charakterystykę zjawiska alkoholizmu w literaturze przedmiotu. Zawiera wpływ alkoholu na organizm w poszczególnych stadiach spożycia alkoholu. Przytoczono tam podstawowe pojęcia alkoholizmu jakie można znaleźć w literaturze, sposoby rozpoznawania uzależnienia, motywy jakie skłaniają ludzi do sięgania po alkohol. Rozdział tez zawiera również fazy rozwoju choroby alkoholowej, oraz skutki jakie powoduje nadmierne spożycie alkoholu. W drugim rozdziale znajdują się zagadnienia dotyczące rodziny z problemem alkoholowym. Ujęcie alkoholizmu z perspektywy poszczególnych członków rodziny, problematyka współuzależnienia, sytuacja dzieci żyjących w rodzinie alkoholowej. Zawiera także informacje dotyczące procesu powrotu do zdrowia rodziny dotkniętej problemem alkoholowym.Rozdział trzeci zwiera metodologię badań własnych. Czwarty rozdział to analiza socjologiczna rodzin z problemem alkoholowym, spostrzeżenia oraz wnioski z przeprowadzonych badań.

The main objective of the presented thesis is to draw attention to a widespread issue of alcoholism which influences not only the addicts but most of all their families and the whole society. The dissertation is concentrated on issues related to the impact of an individual’s alcoholism on the condition of the whole family system. Moreover, it is shown how the relationships in a family struggling with alcohol disease look like and how they are transformed throughout the disease as well as after the alcohol rehabilitation. It is significant to present alcoholism as a problem which does not only affect the addicted individulas but also the whole family system.The first chapter includes the general characteristic of the issue of alcoholism in the study literarature and its influence on the organism at the particular stages of alcohol consumption. The basic terms related to alcoholism have been quoted based on science literature. Also, the methods of how to distinguish the actual addiction have been described along with the motives which prompt individuals to consume alcohol. The chapter also consists of the description of alcohol disease’s phases and the longterm effects of excessive drinking.Chapter two contains all the concerns touching a family with an alcohol problem. It presents the view on alcoholism from the perspective of particular members of a family. It also takes into consideration the problem of codependency and the situation of children from alcoholic families. Moreover, it includes the relevant information regarding the process of rehabilitation in families with alcohol problems.Chapter three contains the methodology of self-study.The last chapter is a social analysis of the families striving against alcohol abuse. It also includes some reflections on the issue as well as some final conclusions from the conducted research.
