"Roman station" on Danubian areas of Barbaricum.

Praca niniejsza stanowi próbę interpretacji genezy oraz funkcji tzw. „stacji rzymskich”, występujących na terytorium południowo-zachodniej Słowacji. Analizie zostały poddane więc założenia architektoniczne pochodzące ze stanowisk rozwijających się w okresie wpływów rzymskich w środkowodunajskiej strefie przylimesowej, zasiedlonej w tym czasie przez plemiona germańskie. Ponadto przedstawiona została charakterystyka kontaktów rzymskogermańskich, przejawiająca się w aspekcie zarówno militarnym, społecznym jak i handlowym, połączona z opisem najważniejszego w dobie Cesarstwa szlaku handlowego i jego odgałęzień. Omówiona została również specyfika polityki prowadzonej przez Imperium Romanum wobec ludności zamieszkującej tereny przygraniczne oraz zagadnienie romanizacji Panonii – prowincji rzymskiej graniczącej bezpośrednio z terenami zajmowanymi przez Markomanów i Kwadów.

The thesis is an attempt to interpretation origin and function of the so-called „Roman station”, occurring in the territory of south-western Slovakia. The analysis was therefore the architectural remains from the statements, developing during the Roman Period in the middle Danubianlimes area, inhabited at the time by the Germanic tribes. In addition, there were submit the characteristics of the contacts between Roman and Germanic population, manifesting itself in termsof both military, social and trade, combined with a description the most important in the area of imperial trade route and its branches. Also discusses the specifics of the policy pursued by the Roman Empire to the people living in border areas and the issue of Romanization Pannonia – Roman province bordering directly with the areas occupied by the Marcomanni and Quadi.
