The loneliness of a talented student

The loneliness of a talented student The first chapter of my MA paper presents the concept of loneliness. I relate there to the understanding of this notion throughout the centuries, what it was associated with and what effect it had on an individual. I also portray the loneliness of the youth and its grounds.In the second chapter I deal with the notion of talent and I explain how it is understood nowadays. I also present the profile of the talented student as well as his character and ways of recognizing such a student in the class. The third chapter encompasses many problems ,most of them are very specific ones, but the prime being : ‘to what extend talented students experience loneliness’. I described the research tools : the scale study of loneliness by ULCA and questionnaires. The research covered 140 pupils from 2nd and 3rd classes of Secondary School number 5 in Kraków. In the last chapter of my work I present the result of my research, which gives a few findings. Among all examined students the rate of loneliness within the talented ones is 37,3 points for women and 37,7 for men. The level of loneliness scored the average rate of loneliness and it differs from the rest of the class in 4,6 points for women and 4,1 points for men.In my paper I also attatched bibliography, list of charts and appendixes with research tools.

Temat pracy: samotność ucznia zdolnego Rozdział pierwszy mojej pracy przedstawia pojęcie samotności. Pokazuję tam, jak na przestrzeni epok pojęcie to było rozumiane, z czym kojarzone i jaki miało wpływ na jednostkę. Przedstawiam również samotność młodzieży oraz jej przyczyny. W rozdziale drugim zajmuję się pojęciem zdolności, wyjaśniam jak to pojęcie jest rozumiane w dzisiejszych czasach. Przedstawiam również charakterystykę ucznia zdolnego, jego cechy oraz sposoby identyfikacji takich jednostek w klasie. Trzeci rozdział zawiera problemy: główny brzmi: „jaki jest stopień odczuwanej samotności przez uczniów zdolnych” oraz problemy szczegółowe. Opisałam narzędzia badawcze: Skala do badania samotności UCLA oraz badania socjometryczne. Badaniem objęłam grupę 140 uczniów z klas II i III Liceum Ogólnokształcącego nr V w Krakowie. W ostatnim rozdziale pracy przedstawiam wyniki badań własnych, z których wynika kilka wniosków. Wśród badanej populacji stopień samotności odczuwany przez zdolnych uczniów wynosi 37,3 pkt. dla kobiet i 37,7 pkt. dla mężczyzn. Poziom samotności osiągnął średni poziom i różni się od reszty klasy o 4,6 pkt. dla kobiet i 4,1 pkt. dla mężczyzn. W pracy zamieściłam również bibliografię, spis tabel oraz aneksy z narzędziami badawczymi.
