The body on the edge (of sense) - analysis of the body based on selected films of New French Extremity

The study examines the status of the body in the context of selected films from New French Extremity. It takes as its starting point the collapse of the dualistic vision of the world and the subject, presented by Descartes. On this basis, I wonder if you can still describe the body not using concepts such as: meaning, significance, whole. I also analyze, the emergence of a new research entity, which is a woman and its constitution-in-picture. I regard the question of desire and its associated burdens. To develop these hypotheses, I use examples of the movies by: Marina de Van, Catherine Breillat and Claire Denis. I consider the status of the embodied eye and its consequences of the perception presented on the screen. I examine the relationship between the body (the characters, the audience) and the perception, referring to the movie by: Philippe Grandrieux and Gaspar Noé. I wonder if the increased presence of bodies on the screen is the attempt of their manifestation or appropriation.

Praca analizuje status ciała w kontekście wybranych filmów nowej francuskiej ekstremy. Za punkt wyjścia obiera upadek dualistycznej wizji świata i podmiotu, prezentowany przez Kartezjusza. Wychodząc z tego założenia, zastanawiam się czy można dziś opisywać ciało nie posiłkując się pojęciami: sens, znaczenie, całość. Analizuję również, pojawienie się nowego podmiotu na horyzoncie badawczym, jakim jest kobieta i jego konstytucji w obrazie filmowym. Podejmuję kwestię pragnienia i związanych z nim obciążeń. Do wypracowania powyższych hipotez posługuję się filmami: Mariny de Van, Catherine Breillat i Claire Denis. Rozważam status ucieleśnionego oka i jego konsekwencji w ramach percepcji przedstawionej na ekranie. Badam zależność między ciałem (bohaterów, widzów) a postrzeganiem, odnosząc się do filmów: Philippe Grandrieux i Gaspar Noé.Zastanawiam się, czy wzmożona obecność ciał na ekranie jest próbą ich manifestacji czy zawłaszczenia.
