Problems of technical translations on the example of manual in the navigation section.

Moja praca magisterskiej została poświęcona analizie słownictwa specjalistycznego w tłumaczeniu instrukcji urządzenia nawigacyjnego. Pierwszy rozdział zawiera teoretyczne informacje na temat przekładu tekstów naukowych oraz naukowo-technicznych. Objaśniono tu problematykę przekładu tekstów naukowych i naukowo-technicznych.Drugi rozdział prezentuje kluczowe słownictwo zawarte w podręczniku obsługi urządzenia oraz jego tłumaczenie, użyte zarówno poprawnie, jak i, niestety w większym stopniu, użyte niepoprawnie. Trzeci rozdział skupia się na błędach stylistycznych, gramatycznych, jak i funkcjonalnych dotyczących całych wyrażeń. Zostały one przedstawione na podstawie wybranych trzynastu charakterystycznych zdań przykładowych oraz ich sposobu tłumaczenia zaprezentowanego w polskim przekładzie instrukcji obsługi.

My master’s thesis has been devoted to the analysis of specialist vocabulary in translating the instructions of the navigation device. The first section contains theoretical information on the translation of scientific and scientific-technical texts. Here was explained the issues of translating of the scientific and scientific-technical texts. The second chapter presents the key vocabulary contained in the manual for the device and its translation, used both correctly and, unfortunately to a greater extent, used incorrectly. The third chapter focuses on the stylistic, grammatical and functional mistakes of the whole phrases. They are presented on the basis of the thirteen selected, characteristic, illustrative sentences and their way of translation presented in Polish manual.
