Flânerie, Eroticism and Melancholy in the Poem "Nagi człowiek w śródmieściu" by Anatol Stern.

Praca stanowi analizę i interpretację poematu Anatola Sterna Nagi człowiek w śródmieściu pod kątem postaci flâneura. W artykule autor do analizy figury flâneura posługuje się przede wszystkim opracowaniami Charlesa Baudelaire oraz Waltera Benjamina pogłębionymi o psychoanalityczne teorie melancholii. Celem pracy jest ukazanie związku pomiędzy epistemologiczny i erotycznym aspektem praktyki flânerie, która w poemacie Sterna stanowić ma próbę wypełnienia egzystencjalnej pustki poprzez sensualne doświadczanie miasta.

This paper offers an insight into Anatol Stern’s early poem Nagi człowiek w śródmieściu by analyzing the figure of flâneur. The work is based on Ch. Baudelaire’s and W. Benjamin’s conceptual analysis of flâneur as the framework and further on expanded by a psychoanalytic theory of melancholy. The main contribution of this work is an attempt at illustrating the correlation between epistemological and erotic aspects of flâneurie in Stern’s poem, in which flâneur tries to fulfill his own emptiness by sensual experiencing the city.
