On the role of the child as a stakeholder in the welfare system : challenges for social work

Artykuł koncentruje się na zagadnieniach związanych z rolą dziecka jako interesariusza w systemie pomocy społecznej w kontekście coraz to nowych wyzwań stojących przed pracą socjalną. Jego celem jest ukazanie rozmaitych wymiarów i znaczeń pojęcia interesariusza przez pryzmat wybranych kategorii klientów pomocy społecznej i pracy socjalnej. Autorki zwracają uwagę na wymiar przedmiotowy, w którym akcentuje się konsumpcjonistyczny model dziecka uwikłanego w problemy swoich najbliższych. Bliższe jest im jednak podejście podmiotowe wobec dziecka jako interesariusza, stąd analizy zawarte w artykule ukierunkowane są na wskazanie potencjalnych korzyści oraz zagrożeń związanych ze stosowaniem takiej perspektywy.

This article focuses on issues related to the role of the child as a stakeholder in the social welfare system in the context of new challenges facing social work. Its aim is to show the various dimensions and meanings of the notion of stakeholder through the prism of some categories of social assistance clients and social work. The authors draw attention to the dimension of objectivity, in which the emphasis is consumerist model of child caught up in the problems of their loved ones. However, the closer is the subjective approach towards the child as a stakeholder, hence the analysis contained in the article are focused on the identification of potential benefits and risks associated with the use of this perspective.
